The Clock Tower
Officially a memorial, the Clock Tower was built in 1868 and honors four important sons of Leicester with a statues at each corner. The figures are Simon de Montfort, William Wyggeston (spelt 'William Wigston' on the tower itself), Thomas White and Gabriel Newton. The clock tower sits at the meeting point of five major streets meet; Gallowtree Gate, Humberstone Gate, Haymarket, Church Gate and Eastgates. It is perfect for symmetry and mirror-effects.
