Roughly 1000 scarecrow-like figures called “the Silent People” (“Hiljainen kansa” in Finnish) fill this field and are the creation of local artist Reijo Kela. Visitors to the site wonder what precisely is the artist's idea behind the Silent People. But Reijo Kela refuses to provide any explanation, leaving people to form their own interpretation.
