The Wave
The Wave is a sandstone formation named because of its spectacular shape and colours. It is located along The Wave Trail. The hike to the formation is through wonderful landscapes but it's not so easy, you have to be well prepared with water, good shoes, fitness and a good orientation but it's totally worth it. Due to the fragile nature of the formation only a limited number of hikers are allowed to visit it each day and you will need a permit (www.thewave.info). The Wave is best photographed from mid-morning to early afternoon so as to minimize the extensive shadows. (Kanab, Utah, USA - the wave is actually located over the border in Arizona)
