The Trona Pinnacles are an unusual geological feature in the California Desert National Conservation Area. The incredible landscape consists of more than 500 tufa spires, some as high as 140 feet, rising from the bed of an ancient lake. This area is open for disperse camping, plus a great spot for sunset and also great location for Astrophotography. Just be mindful of the heat. (Westend, California, USA)
