Untermyer Park and Gardens is one of the most dramatically photogenic public gardens in the New York region, featuring grand Beaux-Arts architecture, reflecting pools, ornate pergolas, and a walled garden inspired by ancient Persian and Greek design. The jewel of the park is the Indo-Persian walled garden, where symmetrical canals, mosaic tilework, and sculpted hedges create strong leading lines toward the central reflecting pool, best framed from the elevated steps at the garden's entrance. Shoot during golden hour in the morning or late afternoon when the low light catches the stone columns and water surface without harsh shadows. A wide-angle lens works well for capturing the full geometry of the walled garden, while a short telephoto helps isolate floral details and architectural elements throughout the grounds. The park is free to enter and easily reached from Yonkers train station, roughly a ten-minute walk uphill. (Yonkers, New York, United States)
