Victoria Park is a peaceful green space tucked away in East Belfast centred around a small lake. The lake is home to swans, geese, ducks, moorhens, egrets and herons making it a surprisingly good spot for wildlife photography right in the city. The park sits directly beside George Best Belfast City Airport, so planes pass overhead at low altitude on approach and takeoff. You can frame them coming in over the lake, over the trees, or alongside the bright yellow Harland and Wolff cranes that dominate the skyline to the west. Those cranes (nicknamed Samson and Goliath) are visible from multiple spots around the park and add a unique contrast when pairing this pocket of greenspace with a background of industrial Belfast. The Sam Thompson Bridge connects the park to the Titanic Quarter and is worth experimenting with views of the shipyard and docks on one side and the park and lake on the other. The park is free to access and is open 24 hours a day. Since park is iwithn the airport's flight restriction zone, drones are not allowed. (Belfast, Northern Ireland)
