The real draw for photographers is the midnight sun, which runs from mid-May through late July, bathing the plateau in warm golden light at an impossibly low angle throughout the night. Position yourself to the east or west of the main viewing area to avoid crowds and find cleaner compositions. The weather changes fast here, and fog or storm light can be just as compelling as clear skies.
