Percé Rock is a massive rock formation rising from the Gulf of Saint Lawrence at the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec, just off the coast of the town of Percé. Formed through natural erosion, it features one of the largest natural arches found in water and has long been an incredible landmark for the region. From a distance, its shape can resemble a ship under sail, adding to its distinct appearance. The rock sits just offshore, making it easy to view from multiple points along the coastline, with changing tides and light affecting how it looks throughout the day. Sunrise is a particularly photogenic time to visit, as the softer light adds depth and color to the scene. Easily accessible viewpoints along the shore make it a straightforward and rewarding stop.
