Watkin's Jetty
Watkin's Jetty is a timber jetty ostretching out into the shallow waters of Tuggerah Lake. It is one of three jetties along southeast stretch of the lake, sitting between Parry's Jetty to the south and the much longer Long Jetty to the north. All three face west across the lake, which makes this area a perfect spot to experiment with sunset photography. The light over Tuggerah Lake often turns soft pink and orange in the evening, and the weathered timber of the jetty catches those tones beautifully. The lake is very shallow, so on calm evenings the water goes glassy allowing the jetty and sky reflect perfectly. The jetty itself gives you strong leading lines running straight to the horizon. Watkin's Jetty is the quietest of the trio, which helps if you want a clean frame without people walking through the shot. The foreshore cycleway connects all three jetties, so you can easily move between them to find the best conditions. (Long Jetty, New South Wales, Australia)
