About West Pier
West Pier is a high stone breakwater stretching well out into the bay and forming the western edge of the Whitby Harbour. The pier has many amazing photogenic views both from the beach and along the pier with a scenic lighthouse capping the end. This area is known for having some dynamic (and photogenic) waves during rough weather but please be sure not to stand/shoot too close to barriers in bad weather due to waves coming over the walls.
