White Mill Bridge is a striking multi-arch crossing over the River Stour, built from warm red sandstone with distinctive white limestone detailing that gives it real visual character. Shoot from the riverbank to capture the full span of arches reflected in the calm water below, particularly effective in still conditions when the surface acts as a mirror. A wide angle lens works well for including both the bridge and the old White Mill just downstream, while a longer focal length lets you isolate the contrasting stonework details. Golden hour light, especially in the morning, brings out the warm tones of the red sandstone beautifully. You can access the riverbank on foot via the Kingston Lacy estate, and low water levels in late summer often reveal more of the arch bases for cleaner compositions. The surrounding meadows also offer elevated angles looking back across the water. (Sturminster Marshall, Dorset, England)
