Wieskirche
The Pilgrimage Church of Wies (German: Wieskirche) is an oval rococo church, designed in the late 1740s and is located in the foothills of the Alps. It is said that, in 1738, tears were seen on a dilapidated wooden figure of the Scourged Saviour. This miracle resulted in a pilgrimage rush to see the sculpture. The outside is a simply design with minimal architectural features, once you step inside its the exact opposite. The interior is filled with breathtaking features. You can visit this church every day from 8 AM to 8 PM in the summertime and from 8 AM to 5 PM in the winter. Be sure to pause and check the posted timetable before entering because you cannot enter the church when there’s a service on.
