Abandoned Millstones
There are hundreds of unfinished millstones at covering this location. The millstones were made nearby but left unfinished/unsold when the market for them dried up in the 19th century. They were gathered together here when the quarry was used in the early 20C to extract stone for the Derwent Dams. (Hathersage, Hope Valley, England)
