Perched along the single-track road skirting Loch Eriboll in the Scottish Highlands, this roadside pullout gives you a stunning view across the water toward a small rocky peninsula crowded with four remarkably well-preserved Victorian limekilns, a stone boathouse, and an old ferry pier. The scene has real depth to work with: shoot from the road's edge using the loch's foreground reflections to anchor the kilns, or compose tightly on the structures themselves to emphasize their scale against the open sky. Overcast days suit this location well, softening the contrast on the pale stone and bringing out the greens of the surrounding hillsides. Golden hour light, especially in the long Scottish evenings of summer, warms the stonework beautifully. A 24-70mm lens covers most compositions comfortably. Parking is informal but easy, and the viewpoint requires no hiking. (Eriboll, Highland, Scotland)
