About Bayfield Peninsula Sea Caves
Bayfield Peninsula Sea Caves are a series of rock formations and beautiful views of the Apostle Islands and Lake Superior. Where the rugged winds and weather have slowly eroded the cliff faces into intricate rock formations and caves. Meyers Beach is a popular departure point for Kayakers wishing to explore the caves. The caves can also be seen by taking a 1.8 mile hike up the Lakeshore Trail. In winter, the Bayfield Peninsula Sea Caves are transformed into Ice Caves. Although the trail to the ice caves on Lake Superior isn't always safe depending on the ice thickness and recent weather so be sure to check before heading out (www.nps.gov/apis/mainland-caves-winter.htm).
