Beacon Waterfront sits along the Hudson River at the foot of Main Street, where the broad river stretches out toward the Catskill Mountains on the opposite bank, offering wide, unobstructed views that reward both landscape and street photographers. The old ferry dock and waterfront promenade give you strong horizontal leading lines to work with, while the mountain ridgeline across the water adds layered depth to your compositions. Golden hour and blue hour are both excellent here, with warm light raking across the water at sunset and the mountains turning deep purple as the sky fades. A wide to standard zoom in the 24-70mm range covers most situations well, though a telephoto helps compress the mountains.
