Bierstadt Lake is surrounded by a thick pine forest, and is ringed by meadows that give it a very serene appearance. The still lake is backed by a beautiful collection of mountain peaks - Otis Peak, Hallett Peak, Flattop Mountain, and Ptarmigan Point. Bierstadt Lake is named after Albert Bierstadt, an artist who admired the lake in the 1870s. It's a hidden gem in the Bear Lake Corridor of the park! (Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, USA)
