Casa Vicens is Gaudí's earliest major work, a burst of Orientalist and Moorish-influenced architecture covered in colorful ceramic tiles, intricate ironwork, and bold geometric patterns that feel unlike anything else in Barcelona. The facade is the main draw, so position yourself on Carrer de les Carolines directly across the street to capture the full composition, using a wide-angle lens to take in the tiled exterior, decorative grilles, and layered roofline together. A slightly elevated angle from the opposite sidewalk helps avoid parked cars and pedestrians cluttering the foreground. Morning light works best, hitting the front facade with a warm glow before the street fills with tourists. The building is compact, so a 24-35mm lens is ideal; step closer to isolate the tile details and ironwork for tighter abstract shots. Entry to the museum is ticketed, and booking in advance is recommended to avoid queues. (Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain)
