Cascade du Nideck
Cascade du Nideck is a waterfall located in the Vosges foothills of northeastern France, near the village of Oberhaslach. Dropping from a height of around 25m, the water flows over dark rock into a basin surrounded by dense forest. The site has long been associated with local legends and has attracted visitors for generations. The main trail begins near Maison Forestière du Nideck and leads through the forest to a viewing area near the base of the falls. Continuing along the trail brings you to the ruins of Château du Nideck, a 13th-century hilltop castle that overlooks the surrounding forest and adds another point of interest to the area. The combination of flowing water, rugged rock, and wooded surroundings creates a strong natural setting, with higher water flow after rain adding more impact. The trail network offers a few different vantage points within a relatively compact area. (Oberhaslach, Bas-Rhin, France)
