Charles Fort

Charles Fort are the imposing remains of a late 1600s fortification featuring a star-shaped design, soaring defensive walls (some are 16 metres high) and moss covered stone buildings. As one of the country's largest military installations, Charles Fort has been part of some of the most momentous events of Irish history. Plus the view from the ramparts looking out over Kinsale Harbour is spectacular. Note - the use of drones is prohibited at the fort. (Summercove, Ireland)
