Citadelle de Corte
The Citadelle de Corte is a fortress perched high on a rocky peak in central Corsica, overlooking the surrounding mountains and the town of Corte below. Built in the 15th century, its stone walls and towers provide powerful compositions, especially when photographed from the valley floor where the citadel dominates the skyline. Inside, narrow passages, fortified walls, and historic details offer additional opportunities for architectural photography. The site also houses the Musée de la Corse, adding cultural context to a visit. Easily reached on foot from the town center, the citadel is best photographed in early morning or evening light when shadows add depth to the rugged landscape. (Corte, Haute-Corse, France)
