Colchester Castle is a Norman castle built on the foundations of the Roman Temple of Claudius, Camulodunum. (the Ancient Roman name for Colchester). Colchester was an important town in Roman Britain, and the first capital of the province. It is claimed to be the oldest town in Britain. (Colchester, England)
