About Corona Arch Trailhead

The Corona Arch Trail crosses the railway tracks just as leave the parking lot. It's quite the photogenic view to pause and see where the rail line runs straight through a cut blasted through the surrounding sandstone. Walls rise straight up on both sides making a narrow passageway just wide enough for trails to pass through. By gettting low at the crossing and the ties and steel rails run away from you making the perfect leading line pulling your eye right into the gap. Long lenses compress the walls, while wide ones put the rails under your feet. While you are shooting be aware that this is still an active train route, hauling potash for Union Pacific, so cross at the marked point and don't wander down the train tracks away from the Corona Arch Trail.
