Crocker Point
Crocker Point is a granite ledge perched high above Yosemite Valley, offering one of the most dramatic elevated compositions in the park, with El Capitan dominating the left side of the frame and Bridalveil Fall visible across the valley. The classic shot looks northeast along the valley floor, where you can compress the depth of the canyon using a telephoto in the 70-200mm range, or go wide to capture the sweeping rock walls and sky together. Morning light hits El Capitan's face beautifully, making an early start worthwhile, though golden hour in the late afternoon adds warm tones to the granite. The hike in is roughly four miles one way with significant elevation, so wear solid footwear and arrive prepared. Stand close to the exposed edge for the cleanest unobstructed views, but exercise caution as the drop is severe. (Yosemite Valley, California, United States)
