Dr Jose Rizal Park
Perched on Beacon Hill, this park gives you one of Seattle's best unobstructed skyline views, with the downtown towers, the Space Needle off to the left, and Mount Rainier rising behind the city on clear days. The main overlook along 12th Avenue South is where most photographers set up, and a wide angle lens in the 16-35mm range works well for capturing the full panorama. You can also compress the scene with a longer focal length to stack the skyline against Rainier for a dramatic shot. Golden hour before sunset is the sweet spot, as the warm light hits the west-facing buildings and the sky behind you reflects color across the scene; blue hour adds city glow once the lights come on. Parking is available directly off 12th Avenue and the overlook is paved and easy to access year-round. (Seattle, Washington, United States)
