Dunmoe Castle sits in a tranquil spot with a spectacular view overlooking the river Boyne. It once marked the boundary of the English Pale. The Castle was built in the 15th Century and was home to the D'arcy family. It remained intact until it was destroyed by fire during the 1798 rebellion. Near the castle is a small overgrown chapel and graveyard with a crypt containing members of the D'Arcy family. (Donaghmore, Ireland)
