About Yellow Steeple

Little remains of the St. Mary's Abbey. The Yellow Steeple is the ruins of the abbey bell tower named for the yellow color reflected by the stonework in the setting sun. It dates back to 1368 but was damaged by Cromwell's soldiers in 1649.
