Evergreen Plantation

Built circa 1790, the Evergreen Plantation House is one of the most complete plantation complexes surviving today. Almost all of the original buildings remain intact and are home to two magnificent Oak lined allies that form tree tunnels. Photographers will love the stunning views these alleys create. One leads to a sugar shack, and the other to the 22 original slave quarters that still stand on the plantation. While beautiful, the estate serves as a historical reminder to a dark stain in America's history. (Edgard, Louisiana)
