Ferryland Lighthouse is a picturesque red tower perched on a rugged headland overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, about an hour south of St. John's. Accessible via a short coastal trai from the parking lot, the walk to the lighthouse offers sweeping views of rocky cliffs, open sea, and seasonal whale sightings. Photographers will find striking compositions that combine the historic lighthouse with dramatic coastal scenery, especially during golden hour or in foggy conditions that often roll in from the ocean. The site is also home to the popular Lighthouse Picnics, which can add a lively element to summer visits. With its remote feel, strong natural light, and open surroundings, Ferryland Lighthouse is an excellent location for capturing the spirit of Newfoundland’s coastline.
