Florida Southern College Esplanades
The Esplanades at Florida Southern College are a network of covered walkways designed by Frank Lloyd Wright as part of his broader campus plan. Built in the 1930s and 1940s, they connect many of the college’s buildings and are considered one of the largest collections of Wright’s work in a single location. The structures are defined by their repeating concrete arches, geometric patterns, and long, linear layout that guides movement across campus. Their design creates strong lines, symmetry, and depth, with shifting light and shadow adding variety throughout the day. The walkways are open to visitors, making it easy to explore different sections and angles across the grounds. (Lakeland, Florida, United States)
