This is an onshore skeletal lighthouse with a hexagonal footprint. It was originally built in 1881 as the Delaware Breakwater Range Rear. That light was discontinued in 1918. It was disassembled in 1921 and relocated to Florida. In 1927, it was moved to Gasperilla Island, FL to be a rear range light there. Oddly, the completed tower was not put into service until 1932.
