Glen Canyon Dam
The Glen Canyon Dam was built in 1966 and stands a soaring 710 feet high across the Colorado River. In addition to serving to keep Lake Powell as a water reservoir also generates hydroelectricity for the region. There are many photogenic spots to view the dam - from the soaring clifftop, the Glen Canyon Dam Bridge or from the river on a boat tour. (Page, Arizona, USA)
