About Hells Gate Geothermal Park
"Hell's Gate", is Rotorua's most active geothermal area located on State Highway 30, between Lake Rotorua and Lake Rotoit. It includes many geothermal features such as steaming lakes, mudpools, fumaroles, a mud volcano and the Kakahi Falls, the largest hot waterfall in the southern hemisphere. It is part of a private park so there may be an admission charge.
