About Isobel Lake
Isobel Lake sits tucked away in a pocket of forest about 20 km north of Kamloops. The drive in crosses a dry open range before the road drops into spruce and fir at the lake. A crushed rock loop runs 3 km right around the shore with benches, interpretive signs and scenic views as it circles the lake. Shooting from the loop at first light gives you the chance to experiment with reflection photography. Plus loons are usually out first thing in the morning. If you come in autumn, the trees turn rich shades of yellow that contrast amazingly against the conifers. There's a big parking area at the Isobel Lake Recreation Site with washrooms and covered picnic shelters. You can camp up here if you want to be there for sunrise/sunset.(Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada)
