This dramatic equestrian monument in Łazienki Park depicts King Jan III Sobieski on a rearing horse, triumphant above two fallen Turkish soldiers, making it one of the most striking sculptural compositions in Warsaw. The rearing horse and layered figures give you strong vertical energy to work with; position yourself low and close with a wide angle to emphasize the monument's power and height against the sky, or step back with a short telephoto to compress the surrounding park foliage as a natural frame. Overcast days work beautifully here by eliminating harsh shadows across the detailed bronze surfaces, though golden hour light from the east in the morning picks up the warm tones of the metal and adds depth to the sculpted figures. The monument sits on an open path within the park, easy to walk around for multiple angles, and a 24-70mm or similar versatile zoom covers most compositions well.
