About Kotor Bay Viewpoint
The Kotor Cable Car's Upper Station sits on a breathtaking summit with endless views in every direction. From up here the bay looks like a long, twisting lake of deep blue water, with small towns dotted along the shoreline. Short marked paths lead from the station in almost every direction to various lookouts over Kotor and surrounding bays. This lets you take your time to explore all the possibilities before you settle on a spot that suits your shooting style. A wide lens lets you take in the curves of the bay along with the forested slopes pulling your eye down into the photo. If you bring a telephoto lens you can experiment with picking out the orange roofs of Kotor's old town, or planes coming in to land at Tivat Airport. In the late afternoon/evening the ridges start to separate and the water picks up more colour. Summer haze and low cloud can hide the view completely giving your compositions a completely different feel. This viewpoint is easily accessible using the cable car or you can drive right up to the summit. If you plan on staying for sunset, it's best to drive up since the cable car's last trip back down is at 8pm and it stops running in bad weather. (Kotor, Kotor Municipality, Montenegro)
