La Rocco Tower
La Rocco Tower sits on a natural outcrop of Jersey shale roughly half a mile offshore in St Ouen’s Bay. It is surrounded by water at high tide and exposed at low tide. It was built between 1796 and 1801 to guard St Ouen's Bay from attack by the French at a time when France and Great Britain were sworn enemies. As a bonus you can rent the tower and stay overnight completely surrounded by sea twice a day with unrivalled views of St Ouen’s Bay. (Jersey, United Kingdom)
