Lake Wenatchee is a striking alpine lake fed by glaciers and snowmelt, set against dense evergreen forest and the rugged peaks of the Cascades, giving you a classic Pacific Northwest landscape with strong reflections and layered depth. The western end of the lake is your best starting point, where Emerald Island sits just offshore and can be framed between shoreline trees or used as a mid-ground anchor with the mountains behind it. Early morning is ideal when the water is glassy and the peaks catch the first light, making reflections especially clean and vivid. A wide angle lens works well for sweeping shoreline compositions, while a short telephoto lets you compress the island against the forested ridgeline. The state park has easy parking and well-maintained trails that follow the shore, giving you multiple vantage points without much effort. (Lake Wenatchee State Park, Washington, United States)
