Perched at 1,000 meters above sea level in the Norwegian highlands, Langedrag Naturpark is a working wildlife park whose traditional timber buildings and stave-style architecture blend seamlessly into a sweeping mountain landscape straddling the valleys of Numedal and Hallingdal. The dramatic ridgeline views and rustic structures give you strong compositional anchors, while resident wolves, lynx, arctic foxes, and reindeer offer rare wildlife portrait opportunities in naturalistic enclosures. For landscapes, position yourself to layer the buildings against the mountain ridges in the background; a wide to standard zoom in the 24-70mm range handles both architecture and scenery well. Wildlife sessions often bring animals close, so a 70-200mm gives you room to work. Golden hour light in the morning wraps beautifully across the hillside, and overcast days soften shadows for animal portraits. The park sits along a mountain road, so check seasonal access conditions before visiting, as snow can linger well into spring. (Numedal, Viken, Norway)
