Le Pont d'Arc
Le Pont d'Arc is a spectacular natural rock arch spanning the Ardèche River near Vallon-Pont-d'Arc in southern France. Formed by thousands of years of river erosion, the arch rises over 50 meters high and stretches nearly 60 meters across, creating a stunning focal point framed by cliffs, forest, and flowing water. This location offers excellent opportunities for wide landscape shots, especially during early morning or late afternoon when light reflects off the river and illuminates the limestone. In summer, kayakers and swimmers often fill the river, adding life and scale to the scene. Accessible by road with multiple viewpoints and riverside trails, Le Pont d'Arc is one of the most photographed natural features in the Ardèche region and a must-visit for any landscape photographer exploring southeastern France.
