Līvu Square

Līvu Square is a unique gem in Riga’s Old Town, created after wartime destruction opened up the area between surrounding buildings. Today, it’s a busy square lined with cafés, restaurants, and a mix of historic architecture, including the Small Guild and Large Guild buildings nearby. The open layout makes it easy to photograph the varied exteriors, while the slight slope and patterned paving add subtle visual interest in the foreground. In warmer months, outdoor seating fills the space, adding activity and color, while winter can bring a quieter atmosphere or seasonal decorations.
