About Long Branch Beach
Long Branch Beach is a wide stretch of sand on the north Jersey shore with a paved promenade running the length of it. The sand is wide enough that you can back well off the water and experiment with fitting whole beachfront in a frame. This beach faces east, which means the sun comes up straight out of the Atlantic ahead of you. First light is when to be here when the sun is low and warm across the sand plus you'll be here before anyone else is on it. Wooden and stone groynes break up the shoreline, rows of weathered pilings (or rocks) stretching out into the surf to hold the sand in place. They give you structure in an otherwise open view, so shoot down a line of them, or let one cut across the frame with the sunrise behind. To capture them you will need to time your outing with low tide since high water covers most of the posts/rocks. The beach is very easily accessible with entrances all along the promenade, although you seach badges are required in season. Aim to get here and parked early, the lots tend to fill up fast on summer weekends. (Long Branch, New Jersey, United States)
