Lyngvig Fyr is a striking white conical lighthouse rising 38 meters above the dune landscape between the North Sea and Ringkøbing Fjord on Denmark's west coast. Built in 1906, the tower contrasts sharply against the open sky and surrounding heathland, making it a strong graphic subject from almost any angle. Try shooting from low in the dunes to emphasize the rolling sandy foreground and lead the eye up to the tower, or position yourself to include both the lighthouse and the fjord or sea in the same frame. A wide angle lens works well for sweeping dune compositions, while a short telephoto helps compress the landscape behind the structure. Golden hour light from the west catches the white facade beautifully, and overcast days give the scene a moody, windswept quality that suits the exposed coastal setting. The site is accessible via a short walk from a nearby car park. (Hvide Sande, Central Jutland, Denmark)
