This panoramic lookout sits high on a granite hilltop, right behind the church in the seaside town of Lysekil. From up there you can look out over the whole town with its clusters of painted wooden houses dropping toward the harbour. The view is bookended by the Gullmarsfjord on one side and the wide open Skagerrak on the other. The hilltop is also home to an old lookout tower from 1894, that can be a nice feature to work into the foreground of your panoramas to add a sense of scale to the view. The rooftops and waterways give you natural lines to lead the eye out toward the sea. The hilltop is generally quite quiet so there should be lots of room along the hilltop to move around and experiment with different angles over the town and the surrounding fjord. Lysekil faces west, so it's the perfect spot to come during sunset and shoot the light going down over the water, plus then you can stay for blue hour to capture the harbour and streets below as their lights come on for the evening. Getting to the hilltop is a short walk from the church, where there is lots of parking. The tower itself has been closed on and off over the last few years for repairs, so you may not be able to climb it, but the view from the hill is just as good either way. (Lysekil, Bohuslän, Sweden)
