Skalhamn View
Skalhamn View sits along the rugged Bohuslän coast north of Lysekil, where smooth, wave-sculpted outcrops of the region's distinctive pink granite meet the open sea. The rosy hue of the rock is unlike anything else in Scandinavia, and it photographs beautifully against the deep blues and greys of the Skagerrak. Look for naturally worn hollows, cracks, and lichen patches in the foreground to add texture and depth, then frame out toward the horizon or nearby skerries for a sense of scale. Overcast days work surprisingly well here, softening shadows and letting the pink tones in the stone saturate fully; golden hour on a clear evening turns the rock almost amber. A wide angle lens suits the sweeping coastal compositions, while a telephoto helps isolate individual rock formations. Wear grippy footwear, as the surfaces can be slippery when wet.
