Månafossen

Månafossen, located in the Gjesdal municipality, is one of Norway’s tallest and most dramatic waterfalls, cascading 92 meters into a rugged canyon surrounded by steep cliffs and dense forest. A short but steep hike from the parking area leads to a main viewing platform, where photographers can capture the sheer force and vertical drop of the falls, especially striking after rainfall or during spring snowmelt. Additional trails offer alternative angles and perspectives, including views with lush valley backdrops. Early morning light enhances the mist and textures, making for dynamic compositions.
