The tallest aqueduct in England, and the tallest masonry arched aqueduct in Britain, is nestled in the beautiful woodland of Marple. The Marple Aqueduct was built was constructed in 1800 to carry the Peak Forest Canal over the River Goyt. Still fully functional, you can travel by boat or foot across this amazing feat of construction, taking in the river Goyt and its stunning surrounding woodland. Making this stunning aqueduct even more photogenic - there is a soaring arched rail bridge running parallel to it as the perfect shooting backdrop. (Marple, England)
