Matagarup Bridge is a striking cable-stayed pedestrian bridge spanning the Swan River, its twin white arches deliberately designed to evoke the shape of swans in flight, making it one of Perth's most photogenic structures. You can shoot from directly below the arches looking up to emphasize the radiating cables and dramatic geometry, or pull back to the riverbank for a wider composition that captures the full silhouette against the sky. Blue hour and after dark are ideal, when the multicolour LED lighting system transforms the bridge into a vivid subject with strong reflections on the water below. A wide-angle lens works well for the underside perspective, while a short telephoto lets you compress the cables and arches from a distance. The bridge is easily accessible on foot from the East Perth foreshore, and the southern bank of the river offers clean angles with minimal obstructions. (Perth, Western Australia, Australia)
