Memorial Arch of Tilton
This 55-foot Romanesque Revival triumphal arch sits on a hillside above the town, offering a striking foreground subject with the surrounding New Hampshire landscape stretching out behind it. The arch has strong geometric lines and detailed stone rustication that reward close-up shots as much as wide environmental compositions. Shoot from below and angle upward to emphasize the arch's height and ornate stonework, or back up to frame it against the sky with the town visible in the distance below. A wide-angle lens works well for dramatic perspective from ground level, while a mid-range zoom lets you isolate the carved details.
