About Millennium Cross on Hum Hill
From almost anywhere in Mostar you can look up and find the Millennium Cross on Hum Hill. This soaring memorial cross stands 100ft on the bare limestone summit with amazing views looking out over the surrounding valley. Up close the white cross with its hard edges contrasts beautifully with the backdrop of green rolling hills. Since the hilltop is wide open you have the space to experiment with various compositions. You can easily get in close under one arm with a wide lens and shoot straight up so the arms cut across open sky. Or you can pair the cross with the city sitting in the valley below you. It is close enough that a long lens picks the old town roofs out of the sprawl, with the mountains stacking up behind. It also gets quite dark up here if you want to wait for the lights of the city to come on below you. There is a winding road that bring you right to the top so you can drive it, some people chose to walk instead. (Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina)
